Honey is a sweet, thick liquid made by honeybees. In Africa, so much importance is attached to honey, it is used at naming ceremonies, weddings, birthdays and so many other wonderful occasions to depict how sweet and beautiful the lives of the celebrants will be.

In as much as it is used to represent so much sweetness, it is also very medicinal as it is rich in antioxidants and has antibacterial properties which help fight bacterial infections in the throat. It soothes your throat, taking away pressure from your vocal cords allowing them to recover.

  • Gargling with Honey. Add a teaspoon of honey to a cup of warm water and gargle with it to soothe your throat. You can drink the honey water afterwards for the double healing power 
  • Honey and lemon tea will also not be a bad combination. Add lemon and honey to warm water to create your anti-oxidizing tea with the benefits of both honey and lemon.
